The Belgian Chamber of Translators and Interpreters will in 2020 organise the first major international conference on translation in the Francophonie. Taking the theme of ‘The French language and its variations’, this event will be held in the large auditorium (500 places) at the Wallonia Conference Centre in Mons, Belgium, on Friday, May 8, 2020.
The conference is being organised with the support of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, the European Commission (DGT – French language department) and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
The event will bring together a significant number of the countries in the Francophonie, including Algeria, Belgium, Canada (Québec), France, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Morocco, Senegal, Switzerland and Tunisia, as well as various representatives of international institutions who use French as their official language (the EU, the OECD, the UN, the NATO, etc.).
Also, the morning session will be introduced by a major figure known throughout the Francophonie.
The official programme and the registration procedure will be available by the end of 2019. In the meantime, make sure you mark the date (Friday, May 8, 2020) on your calendar!
