Workshop: Writing and managing translation projects in the technical field

  • Date: 25 October 2014 14:00 - 25 October 2014 17:00
  • Place: Université de Liège, 1 quai Roosevelt, bâtiment A4, local S100
  • Contact: Franziska Münzberg ()
  • Category: Third-party Activities, Third-party Activities, Training, Training

We are pleased to welcome to Liège three experts in the field of technical documentation, translation project management and terminological work. Using as their starting point their work at La vie in Aix-la-Chapelle (which produces technical documents of all kinds, especially user manuals for computer software), they will present several occupational niches that are open both to translation students and to experienced translators who’d like to expand their offer of services. This may give you a better idea of the day-to-day life of a technical writer/translator: Where do we find the information we need to write documents in a source language and how do we handle it? How do we prepare and write these documents? How do we translate these documents and the software they accompany?

Speakers
