On the occasion of hosting FIT EUROPE’s General Meeting in Athens on 1/11/2014 for the very first time, PEEMPIP, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Translators Graduates of the Ionian University, has organised a two-part event on Friday, 31/10/2014 at Technopolis, City of Athens. The venue is an industrial museum of incomparable architecture, in the popular area of Gazi, known for its restaurants, cafes, music and art spaces. The new Benaki Museum is just around the corner if you want to combine training with culture. Access is easy via the metro from Central Athens Hotel where the General Meeting is going to take place.
SHAPING OUR COMMON FUTURE includes three workshops on Visibility, Technology and Pricing (10 am – 3.30 pm) and an afternoon Open Event (5.30 pm – 9.00 pm), organised with the support of the European Commission Representation in Greece. The majority of workshop trainers and speakers are esteemed representatives of their respective associations, arriving to Athens for the General Meeting. The aim is to draw the interest of professional Greek translators and showcase how local associations contribute towards claiming professional and working rights for translators.
All activities will be held in English.
Please note that the workshops are mainly addressed to a local audience and there is a small fee. However, association representatives arriving earlier in Athens are welcome to attend any or all the workshops free of charge. Please let us know via the event site if you intend to attend in order to better organise the seating arrangements.
